I am super excited!

On 7th February, my Becky White thrillers are being re-released with Bloodhound Books.

Revelation will also be out on Audiobook that day too! I can’t wait to hear it being brought to life 🙂

Unusually, the Becky White books are set in different time periods, with Revelation set in 1989 when Becky and her friend Dan are students at Manchester University.

The other two books pick up Becky’s life 30 years later after she leaves the police force in mysterious and difficult circumstances. These books are also set in Manchester.

In all the books, my protagonists are kind, helpful people doing their best to seek truth and justice. However, they have a knack for attracting trouble, and frequently have to extract themselves or each other from dangerous situations.

Becky and Dan are both Jewish and encounter some antisemitism, particularly in the student environment. In the later books, Becky has to deal with it in some of her cases, although in more subtle forms.

In Revelation, Dan, who is gay, also has to deal with homophobia, which was particularly rife at the time due to the media slant on HIV and AIDS. Meanwhile, Becky is struggling with an abusive tutor and a culture where women were advised to carry rape alarms on and off campus.

Paparazzi focuses more on obsession and its possible consequences. Once again, Becky finds herself in danger, exacerbated by PTSD from her recent experiences in the police force.

Fabergé gets even darker, with theft, abduction and murder at the heart of the story. A Russian gang team up with enemies of the partners at the White Knight Agency to create a disturbing thriller where no one is safe!

About the Author:

Jo Fenton grew up in Hertfordshire, UK. She devoured books from an early age, particularly enjoying adventure books, school stories and fantasy. She wanted to be a scientist from aged six after being given a wonderful book titled “Science Can Be Fun”. At eleven, she discovered Agatha Christie and Georgette Heyer, and now has an eclectic and much loved book collection cluttering her home office.

Jo combines an exciting career in Clinical Research with an equally exciting but very different career as a writer of psychological thrillers.

When not working, she runs (very slowly), and chats to lots of people. She lives in Manchester with her husband and Golden Retriever/Husky cross, and within car-sharing distance of her two sons. She is an active and enthusiastic member of two writing groups and a reading group.
