Spread the love

I’m very excited today to introduce Lynda Renham to my Thursday Themes blog to talk about her latest book, The Girl in the Woods.

Thank you Jo for featuring me today. I’m delighted.

Hi, my name is Lynda Renham and I’m excited to tell everyone about my new novel ‘The Girl in The Woods’ published by https://www.bloodhoundbooks.com/

This is a standalone novel but if you wanted to learn more about some of the lead characters, Beth Harper and Tom Miller, they are introduced in my previous thriller ‘The Lies She Told’

The Girl in the Woods has been described as a gritty novel. One reviewer described it like this.

‘In my opinion, she is without a doubt in the very top echelon of crime writers in the UK today. I sincerely hope that one day these novels will be adapted for television. They will be ideal for prime-time viewing. It was nice to return to Oxfordshire to meet again some awesome characters. The crimes detailed in this novel are amongst the worst, the most brutal and evil, committed by men in our troubled world. The detection of these monsters in fiction might help people at risk identify similar characters in the ‘real’ world. Creepy, clever, packed with tension, this is a candidate for Crime Novel of the Year.

The theme of my novel is one of revenge but it also features racism, but shows how with understanding someone can change their views. It’s a crime novel with a difference. It also portrays the corruption of the police. The novel has many facets, and characters with the same aim to better the world as they see it. One in particular decides that the police aren’t doing enough to protect society and sets himself up as a vigilante. The novel is set in two time frames which makes exciting reading as the reader doesn’t know until later in the novel how these two stories connect.

I very much enjoyed writing this novel and am very fond of all the characters. I wanted to give the reader an exciting read while also making them think about social issues we face today. I think readers will have their favourite characters. As the author I know I do.
