Audiobook Review – Val Penny – Hunter’s Chase

Spread the love

I am thrilled to be participating in the blog tour for the audiobook of Hunter’s Chase by Val Penny.

It’s about three years since I first read Hunter’s Chase, and it was fabulous to revisit this book through the medium of audio, brilliantly narrated by Sean Pia.

His accent is perfect for the role, capturing the voice of the book through his excellent portrayal of the characters. He also brings the setting to life, although Val has done a great job of this through the written word.

The novel takes us around Edinburgh via the police detectives and the petty (and not so petty) criminals that inhabit this wonderful city. There are twists and turns; amazing, believable and relatable characters; and a wonderful story that draws the reader (or in this case, listener) in to staying up late in to the night!

I highly recommend this book, whether via ebook, paperbook or audio – you’re in for a treat!

About the Book:

Hunter by name – Hunter by nature: DI Hunter Wilson will not rest until Edinburgh is safe.

Detective Inspector Hunter Wilson knows there is a new supply of cocaine flooding his city, and he needs to find the source, but his attention is transferred to murder when a corpse is discovered in the grounds of a golf course.

Shortly after the post-mortem, Hunter witnesses a second murder, but that is not the end of the slaughter. With a young woman’s life also hanging in the balance, the last thing Hunter needs is a new man on his team: Detective Constable Tim Myerscough, the son of his nemesis, the former Chief Constable Sir Peter Myerscough.

Hunter’s perseverance and patience are put to the test time after time in this first novel in The Edinburgh Crime Mysteries series.
